Our Story

Rok Cork was born from a life long dream of mine wanting to share my passion

elizabeth roque, CEO Founder Rok Cork

and pride for my beautiful country of Portugal.

I have always had a creative flair, and up until Rok Cork, I was sharing my creativity through my other passion: Baking.  Seeing the smiles and pleasure you bring to people's lives with something simple as a cookie, is the most rewarding and fulfilling feeling you will ever experience.

Today at Rok Cork we continue to achieve that by putting a smile on every woman across the globe who carries one of our bags, each piece is personally designed in house, always keeping in check what women need and appreciate in a well made handbag.

"my vision is to bring classic shapes to life with playful colors of Cork and small on trend details, but never compromising on quality or functionality.  Each bag is inspired by someone I meet along the way, you will notice they all have a name, making them extra special.  Each handbag is reflective of that person's personality and how they touch my heart day in and day out. "

I am the daughter of a life long cobbler, and I fondly remember my day trips to the tannery with my dad at the young age of 6, to pick up the leathers he would use to hand stitch soccer balls or custom made shoes.  Never imagining those trips would come full circle and have such an influence in my present life.  Today, I still consult my 73 year old dad, for guidance and expertise, his craftsmanship from being a cobbler since he was 12, has been key in Rok Cork's success, ensuring that the materials sourced are of the highest quality available, so that every customer receives a product that combines quality, style and value.

As I often remind myself, "overnight success does not happen, you need to build a strong foundation and the journey is all about building those blocks one day at a time through hard work and perseverance."

I am proud of myself and my team, that as we grow Rok Cork, we are continuously making a difference in people's lives:  the artisans who make our products, the customers we are so grateful to serve, the contribution we are making to a better planet by using natural materials.

So let's keep on Rok'g, with soul and purpose.

With gratitude for all of you.
